June 2012 - Direct Pointing Meditation in Mesa on Jun 4, 2012 7:00 PM

June 2012 - Direct Pointing Meditation |
Description
Direct Pointing-A course in the exploration of Non-Self Meditation Learning Center
Direct pointing is stimulating, fun and welcoming meeting where a facilitator and a small group of people meet once per week for six weeks, in a quiet setting, and work toward the understanding of non-dual awareness and the disassociation with a self that is experienced as being separate from anything, or anybody. We work with various non-dual approaches that help clear the way for the comprehension of our true nature.
When awareness meets experience without preference or resistance, this is the mind that properly identifies with thoughts and looks at memories or stories of the past, and plans for the future with clarity. In Direct Pointing, we look at how the mind process works as a whole. Moreover, how thoughts are identified with and often mistaken as the truth. All of this resulting in a false identification with life and a holding back from realizing and living our true nature.
Direct Pointing allows the participant the opportunity to understand their relationship with a "self" and how the view of a "self" that is separate form the rest of the world arises as a thought and the difficulties that this can cause.
Direct Pointing is a method to develop a contemplative practice that will enhance one's lifestyle. It is a clearing away of the personal stories about the "self" through awareness.
This six-week program involves a small group of participants sitting in chairs. Each week a different perspective of the non-dual view will be explored. There are hands on, dialectic and written exercises. Presented will be new methods of directly pointing one to their true nature. We will use meditation practices and there will be group discussions aided by direct questioning to stimulate self inquiry. This program works at building dependable and clear cognitive behavior, improvement in concentration, and is a wonderful aid in building a happier life through the clarity of mind that is a bi-product of the realization of our true nature.
[This group will meet on Monday evenings at 7:00-8:30 PM on June 4th 2012 and continuing for six weeks. For further information please contact the facilitator.]
